Located on the corner of Flinders and Russell Streets, The Duke of Wellington is not only Melbourne’s oldest pub, it also has been refurbished in a modern and funky vibe, that I imagine would attract a big night crowd. There are numerous bars within the establishment; we visited the Rooftop bar at midday on a Saturday. There are three levels all up, including a Wine Bar in the middle level.
Beer prices were reasonable and the outdoor area was heated with high gas heaters. There were a few televisions perched up high for sports. However with the view through the bare winter trees, there is no need for tvs.
Will we go back? Definitely
